Comfort and Convenience. HRM-Dual features a soft strap that is comfortable and adjustable. Simply remove the heart rate module, and it’s washable, too. And don’t worry about running out of juice. The battery lasts for up to 3.5 years. WARNING: This product contains a button/coin battery and is hazardous. Keep batteries away from children.
Here there is a difference. Only the Garmin HRM-Pro offers a Bluetooth interface. The connection via Bluetooth is mostly used for cell phones or fitness watches. Some new devices in fitness studios also offer Bluetooth as an option. The standard ANT+ less known.
Let's first look at the heart rate features. Generally there are two options to record the Heart Rate info on the watch, either an external HRM strap, or via an Optical HR (oHR) sensor build into the watch. All Garmin watches with oHR sensors have the ability to connect to ANT+ external HRM and some even BT sensors.
Pro-tip, you need to remove the prior heart rate monitor from the list of sensors saved on your watch. The Garmin HRM does return some interesting data in addition to heart rate such as ground contact time, vertical oscillation, etc. So, it is a very useful device for training. It suffers the same issues as all chest straps.
I also use Zwift run on my Android phone frequently. I am facing the same issues now with Garmin HRM, connected but no signal. I have to connect the HRM to my Garmin 735xt watch to get my readings. So i guess it is not only the companion app but it is the zwift app that might cause the issues OR probably Android connectivity.
Frankly, the MyZone HRM is not as capable as alternatives. I'll propose my analysis and suggest that MyZone does not now and will not ever support third party devices on their receivers. From what I've read about the MyZone hub, receiver, and app, pairing is accomplished by entering a serial number or device ID from the MyZone HRM.
m4stic. • 2 yr. ago. Yes you have to pair it with Garmin Connect and Watch. If paired with garmin connect only, the strap will account for steps, activity minutes and HR “daily” metrics. But if you want to use HRM Pro for running cycling etc.. you have to pair it with watch. naughtybarry.

If I don't do that OHR won't start and my FR935 will continue to read data from HRM RUN / at the beggining nonsense data, because HRM is no more connected to chest strap and then will whow no data, but keeps connected to FR935. • Hand wash the heart rate monitor after every seven uses, using a tiny amount of mild detergent, such as dishwashing liquid. NOTE: Using too much detergent may damage the heart rate monitor. • Do not put the heart rate monitor in a washing machine or dryer. • When drying the heart rate monitor, hang it up or lay it flat.

Pairing a Garmin HRM-Dual with an Apple Watch. To pair your Garmin HRM dual to your Apple Watch, first, make sure that your device is discoverable. Then launch the Settings app on your Apple Watch
This latest one was a HRM-Pro and didnt even last 3 workouts. Now can't be detected by my Garmin Fenix or Garmin phone app (tried battery upside down trick and all the normal stuff). I would think it's my Fenix 5X that is the issue but my polar armband still connects fine and I did try to connect directly to the garmin iphone app and it would

A lot of respect to DCrainmaker when it comes to reviews. But when it comes to maintenance of equipment after purchase. That's what i want to help with.
Our advice is to look among the best budget heart rate monitors, like the Wahoo TICKR X or Polar H9 or H10, which give accurate heart rate data. If you are a Garmin user, particularly a swimmer or triathlete or a runner who wants the advanced stats, then the HRM-Pro Plus is the best heart rate monitor on the market and worth investing in even Restarting the Watch. Yes. I can confirm that when using the Polar heart rate sensors with Garmin łor any other brands like Suunto, Zwift, Concept2 etc) and also enabling the internal recording on the heart rate sensor, then the heart rate sensor will sync to Polar Flow and the watch to Garmin Connect.

It is not a standalone device suitable for the use with Garmin Connect. It needs to be connected to a Garmin watch, or another device. If you want a standalone HRM, you need the HRM PRO. You can use HRM DUAL with other non-Garmin apps, though, just like most other HRM belts. A dedicated community for Garmin users to ask questions, provide After it is paired, the heart rate monitor sends activity data to your Garmin Connect account whenever the monitor is awake and within range of your smartphone.
